How auto-updating pages work
Pages built from all your videos, like a ranking or a guide, that keep themselves current.
Last updated
An auto-updating page is one page built from everything your channel has covered: "Every bottle we've rated, best first", "Our Maryland store guide", "Every tool we've reviewed". You describe it once; it's written from your videos and rewritten as new ones come out.
Making one
- Go to Publication, then Settings, then the Pages tab.
- Click Build a page from your videos. Not sure what to make? Suggest pages offers a few ideas based on your channel.
- Give it a title and describe what it should be, in your own words. Be specific about what to include and how to order it.
- Leave Update it when a new video belongs on it on, and save.
The first build reads through your videos, keeps the ones that belong on the page, and writes it. That takes a few minutes for a big channel. The page appears on your blog when it's done, in your menu and under Guides on your homepage.
What's on the page
Pages are written as you, from what you said in your videos. They link a bottle, a tool or a store to your post about it when you have one, can include a few of the videos as players, and each post that feeds a page says so underneath ("Featured on Our top whiskeys").
How it stays current
- When a new video belongs on the page, it's added and the page is rewritten.
- When you edit your voice notes, or we improve how pages are written, pages are rewritten overnight.
- Editing the page's description rebuilds it from scratch.
Rebuild from every video (the circular arrow on the Pages tab) does the same full rebuild by hand. Each rewrite keeps the version before it: Undo the last update puts it back.
